26 years in the New Zealand market
Alistair's experience spans the full breadth of New Zealand property, from first homes to premium and off-market acquisitions, in cities and provincial markets alike. He is licensed under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 and is a member of REINZ, the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand. That depth matters most when a buyer is acting from offshore, or under the time pressure of a visa pathway, and needs someone who already knows the market and the process.
Why independent, and why it matters
Every selling agent in New Zealand is engaged by the seller and is legally required to act in the vendor's interests. Alistair works the other way round: he holds no property listings, takes no commissions from selling agents or developers, and accepts no referral fees. All fees are paid by the buyer and agreed in advance. His only obligation is to the buyer he represents. This is independence in the strictest sense, and it is the whole point of the practice.
One person, start to finish
There is no franchise arrangement and no rotating team. Every conversation, property assessment, and negotiation is handled by Alistair personally, from the first call through to settlement. For international buyers in particular, that means a single, experienced point of contact who understands both the New Zealand market and the specific requirements of buying from overseas.
Who Alistair works with
International families relocating to New Zealand; Active Investor Plus Visa clients navigating the OIO consent process; offshore investors buying from the United States and elsewhere, in residential, lifestyle, or rural markets; and experienced buyers who simply want genuine representation on their side of the table. He is based in Nelson and works with buyers nationwide, providing on-the-ground execution offshore clients cannot replicate themselves.
